The sequel/revival of the comedy-drama television series "Gilmore Girls" was a big hit for longtime fans. However, there are no hints nor updates about a sequel to the miniseries "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life." There had been several statements made by the cast and crew of the series about a second revival.

During an interview with TVLine, Lauren Graham who plays Lorelai Gilmore in the series revealed that she is open for another installment. "I would play the character until my dying day," she said. However, she also mentioned that she is satisfied with what the series achieved. She does not see if there is a need to do more.

"Gilmore Girls" star Scott Patterson said there can be "room for more." While talking to E!, Patterson commented that the ending was emotional for him and he added, "It was a little bit open ended, let's face it. So there's kind of room for more."

Netflix's Chief Content Officer told the British Press Association that he is open for another season of the revival series since the first one ended with a cliffhanger. He said, "We obviously loved the success of the show, fans loved how well it was done, it delivered what they hoped." Many fans considered this as an indication that there will be a continuation to the miniseries.

However, writers of "Gilmore Girls" Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino inked a deal with Amazon Studios for their original series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel." This news had left many "Gilmore Girls" fans unhappy since Amy was with the series as Executive Producer from season 1 through 6.

The "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" received impressive ratings from critics. IMDb gave the show an 8 out of 10 score and 85% rating from Rotten Tomatoes.
