Chinese smartphone maker Gionee is expected to make an announcement involving the release of two smartphones. According to GizmoChina, E8 is going to be the company's flagship handset, and will be running the powerful MediaTek MT6795 SoC. On the other hand, the company's M5 smartphone is going to feature a dual-battery setup, where the device will be incorporated with two 3,000 mAh batteries, providing a total of a 6,000 mAh battery pack.

Gionee E8 is expected to feature a 6 inch display that will render a resolution of 1440p. The chipset will be running an octa-core processor running at a frequency of 2 GHz. Additionally, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage, and a 23 MP/8 MP camera sensor combination will be assimilated to the device. Providing the smartphone with the necessary amount of battery life will be a 3,250 mAh battery. In short, the device is going to be targeted to those users who want performance above everything else from a mobile computing device.

Coming to the other handset, Gionee M5, might not impress in the specifications department, but it makes up for it by featuring a mammoth sized battery pack. While several consumers will be skeptical that having two batteries will generate significant amounts of heat, Phone Arena reports that both batteries will not be working simultaneously.

Instead, one battery will be used at one time only. After one battery's capacity has been completely used up, the other one will take charge and provide power to the smartphone. While M5 does feature an LTE modem, its 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM will not be able to deliver the amount of performance that users are looking for in a capable smartphone.

However, for those users who covet battery life over any other feature, Gionee M5 will be the perfect product for them.
