Viewers will see Riley (Rowan Blanchard) trying to cope up with a sad situation in the upcoming episode of Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World."

In "Girl Meets Fish," the 12-year old protagonist will discover that her class fish is dead as soon as she gets it home for the weekend. Her younger brother Auggie (August Maturo) will suspect some "fishy" business, saying that there could be foul play involved. But according to Cartermatt, it will be a sort of "clever mechanism" on the boy's part to help himself deal with the idea of death.

Meanwhile, according to E! Online, the show is brewing a major Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) storyline. In an upcoming episode titled "Girl Meets Forgiveness," the tween's "roguish and good looking" father will be introduced. Kermit is said to "stir up trouble" between Maya's mother Katy (Cheryl Texiera) and her new boyfriend Shawn (Rider Strong).

Kermit left when Maya was still very young and started another family. She initially blamed Katy as the reason why her father left them, until she learned the truth from Shawn. In the past episodes, viewers saw how close Shawn has become to Riley's best friend, even going shopping with her and buying her an entire new wardrobe.

In an interview with the International Business Times during 2015 ATX Television Festival red carpet, Carpenter said Maya would be thrilled to have Shawn as a stepdad.

"He was such a lovable character – with great hair. And still has great hair. Rider as a person is so fantastic that I think having him play a father would be an honor. Of course he's not my father on the show, but we'll see what happens," the actress said.

Last episode, Mr. Turner (Anthony Tyler Quinn) returned to update everyone on what he had been up to for the past decades. The kids at John Quincy Adams also met a new English teacher named Harper Burgess (Tania Gunadi), who had the misfortune of being castigated by the principal for her unorthodox way of teaching on her first day.

Ms. Burgess apparently taught Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" while highlighting the ambiguity between good and evil. She also made the students appreciate the literary value of comic books. Principal Yancy was not pleased with her methods, and threatened to fire her and Cory (Ben Savage), who tried to defend her.

"Girl Meets World" airs Friday at 8:30 p.m. EST on Disney Channel.
