Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and the rest of their family and friends will welcome the New Year with a bang in the upcoming episode of the Disney series "Girl Meets World."

According to CarterMatt, the last episode to air in 2015, which is aptly titled "Girl Meets the New Year," will feature an advanced celebration for the gang. Fans will have to wait, however, as it is scheduled to air on Dec. 4. Disney is also being quiet about any plotlines in store for this episode. Luckily, Blanchard's interview with TV Line gave hints on the things to expect before the season finale. She described how Riley and Maya's friendship would mature as they move into high school, as well as all the new experiences they are about to face.

"The finale is very interesting. It's about the legacy we all want to leave behind in middle school - not only about what you're physically going to leave behind, but also what thoughts you're going to associate with middle school. Riley and Maya both know that going to high school will take their relationships to a new level, as dating is going to become a real thing, which puts everybody in an awkward position," she explained.

Meanwhile, the actress also talked about her character's love triangle with Maya and Lucas (Peyton Meyer). According to her, Riley was lying when she showed to everyone that she was over Lucas. The teenager has been putting up a strong front for Maya, but deep down, she was still trying to shut down her feelings for him. Blanchard applauded the show for showing human nature at its best, where one decides what he or she will and will not do for others.

"The Girl Meets World" season 2 episode 25 will air on Dec. 4 at 8:30 p.m. EST on Disney Channel.
