It seems that aside from dealing with adapting to high school, Maya and Riley's friendship may be also be going through a rough patch over grades and over Lucas in The Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World."

According to a report by Zap2it, the love triangle surrounding Riley, Maya and Lucas may finally be resolved in the episode entitled "Girl Meets Triangle" which will air on June 24.

"Maya's identity crisis kicks into full gear when her art teacher makes her realize that her friendship with Riley may be affecting her artist's voice," the synopsis for the episode read.

The report speculated that Maya's dilemma may have something to do with her uncertainty with what she is to Lucas in much as the same way as Riley is left hanging by Lucas's failure to choose between the two girls who both have feelings for him.

But before the central storyline of the season is explored, Riley will have to deal with school matters as the June 17 episode makes her realize that the bad grade that she received will eventually be part of her permanent record.

Based on a report by Movie News Guide, the episode entitled "Girl Meets Permanent Record" will revolve around Riley getting a D in Spanish while her best friend Maya receives an A, leading to even more frustration on her part because she is used to getting good grades.

According to showrunner Michael Jacobs, they wanted to underscore the many changes teens experience when they enter high school and school problems are part and parcel of the issues that teens relate to.

"I think there was a big shift between Year 1 and Year 2. I think there will be a bigger shift between Year 2 and Year 3 ... I think high school is the most confusing, awful, terrible and ultimately — if you do it right — wonderful springboard into college and the rest of your life," he told The Wrap.
