"Girl Meets World's" fourth season is still in limbo. Meanwhile, speculations of the show's continuation indicate that a younger cast could replace the original actors to continue the series timeline.

"Girl Meets World" is a spin-off from the show "Boy Meets World," which aired on ABC from 1993 to 2000. "Girl Meets World" features a girl named Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) and her best friend, Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter), and how they both face the challenges of school and society.

The show caters to viewers from the ages of 14 to 34, capturing the opinions of the demographic and setting examples for young teens and mothers on how to tackle various social problems. "Girl Meets World" is currently on its third season, and the show's episodes are now airing on Disney.

However, there has been no confirmation if the show will continue on to a fourth season.

A total of 50,906 supporters have signed a petition to continue the series and bring it to Freeform. The petition entails that "Girl Meets World" will be able to explore more mature topics in Freeform for its fourth season, leaving behind the restrictions placed on the show if it continues with Disney and its distinct demographic of younger viewers.

Game N Guide reports that if the show does continue in the Freeform channel, the original cast might be replaced with younger actors to remain consisten with the theme of "Girl Meets World." The original cast could be replaced because they are speculated to have matured too much to continue their roles in the series.

On the other hand, if the story of "Girl Meets World" goes beyond life after high school, the original cast may still play their original roles in the series. Blanchard shares with She Knows that she is still hopeful that "Girl Meets World" continues to air its fourth season.

"We are hoping for a Season 4, obviously, because we want to continue our story, and I feel like it's an important story to tell," said Blachard.

There has been no confirmation for "Girl Meets World" season 4 from Disney.
