A new trailer for HBO's "Girls" has been released and judging by the scenes shown, season 5 will have a lot to offer.

"Girls" is a television show that premiered in 2012 and follows a group of young friends as they try to figure out life in New York City. And although the premise sounded quite cliché, the comedy drama series has been critically acclaimed for realistically portraying the lives of women in such a raw and funny way.

The Emmy Award winning show stars Lena Dunham (who also serves as the show's creator) as Hannah Horvath, Allison Williams as Marnie Michaels, Jemima Kirke as Jessa Johansson and Zosia Mamet as Shoshanna Shapiro.

The new trailer features many exciting things to look forward to, including Marnie getting married to "someone she barely knows," Shoshanna moving to Japan after she declared her decision to do so last season and Hannah's new boyfriend, Fran (Jake Lacy).

Hannah has been through many ups and downs the past few seasons after her confusing relationship with Adam (Adam Driver), attending and dropping out of grad school, and trying to cope with everything. And her friends have also dealt with their fair share of personal problems.

But it seems that season 5 offers something much more to the viewers based on the trailer. Vox notes that there's a likely chance that season five of "Girls" will finally take a leap forward and show the girls growing apart. After all, it's a completely natural thing that happens to real life friendships.

And as the website puts it, "There's no shortage of television shows about friends who live and dream of bigger lives together — but shows about friends who stop being friends are a much rarer thing. So at the very least, if 'Girls' decides to tell the story of how four women in their early 20s 'grow up and grow apart,' realizing that the people they're becoming aren't compatible, it could end up telling a much more exceptional story."
