The dearly loved musical comedy-drama television series "Glee" is nearing its curtain call, and what better way to end the glories and bedlams of the members of New Direction by looking way back and moving ahead at the same time.

The two-hour finale of the series will go back to the moment the characters formed the glee club of McKinley High School along with a forward-looking portion that will give fans a look at where each of their favorite crooner is headed.

Needless to say, "Glee" includes Finn, the character played by the late Cory Monteith, in the big finale. Creator Ryan Murphy has always envisioned the ending of the series with Finn and Rachel's story in focus. However, after the actor's untimely death in July 2013 due to drug overdose, Murphy had no means of taking that mental picture to TV screens.

Nevertheless, Lea Michelle, who plays Finn's love interest Rachel Berry, said that the ending will be great.

"I really think that Ryan [Murphy], Brad [Falchuk] and Ian [Brennan] and the rest of our writers had a difficult task in wrapping up everyone's story lines and also making sure everyone was happy and making sure to honor Cory and do all of that in one episode," the actress said during the PaleyFest 2015.

"And they really did a great job to make sure that the fans were happy and that they were respectful of everyone in the story line," she went on to say.

The first half of the finale titled "2009" was shown in the said event in Los Angeles just recently. The episode showed Finn's first impression on the New Direction members. The character was the quarterback of the school's football team who risked his position by involving himself with the glee club.

Basically, the penultimate installment will show the lives of Rachel and the gang before they banded together as the singers and performers of New Direction.

The first half of the "Glee" finale is sure to tear fans' hearts into smithereens. Viewers should prepare those tissue boxes and see Cory as Finn once more on March 20.
