As a member of rock band Eagles, Frey won six Grammy Awards, and five American Music Awards. The band sold over 120 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. As a solo artist and with Eagles combined, Frey has released 24 Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.

Frey married Cindy Millican, a dancer and choreographer, in 1990. The pair met during one of Frey's video shoots. Together they have two sons - Deacon, 22, and Otis, 13. Their daughter Taylor is 24 years old.

The family posted a statement on the Eagles Facebook: "The Frey family would like to thank everyone who joined Glenn to fight this fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery. Words can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community & millions of fans worldwide."

The lyrics to the song "It's Your World Now" was also posted.
