GL Live's Evolution tour came to London for three days last Thursday as it continues to promote little-known UK and US gospel artists to new audiences.

The excellent line up included Mali Music, Richie Righteous, TP (Anthony Peters), Husky, Lola and Dj4 Real.

The Evolution event is not just about the music but also about raising the level of Christian Music in the UK by promoting artists who do not have distribution deals in the UK and who struggle to get radio play or media coverage.

In addition to the live performances, the audience also heard a positive life changing message, encouraging them to reject crime and worldly standards.

Event promoter with GLMedia, Roger Moore, said: "This event is about putting out positive music for all people.

"When I was in my early years there wasn’t any positive gospel music. Now we have people like Mali, Richie Righteous, a lot of singers who are as good as the secular artists out there but don’t get the platform. That’s why some people are outside church or leave the church. They believe it's boring."

He said he was hopeful for the future development of the gospel music scene in the UK and communicating the Gospel to a young audience through Christian music.

"It's about God moving and moving things the right way," he said. "This decade has been a hard decade because there has been an anti-Christian vibe and anti-religion is rising.

"This decade will be tougher, but this toughness will bring out something better in us. Sometimes you have to squeeze out the toothpaste hard enough to get it out better. We got to be squeezed to get the best out of us!"
