Argentine actor Juan Pablo Di Pace shared that he actually received a sign from God before landing the role of Jesus Christ in the faith-based series A.D. The Bible Continues.

"The day that I found out that I got that role, I was hiking and all of sudden, I see this flock of birds flying around my head and this huge twister right in front of me and I look up and all these birds are flying and I'm going, 'What is going on?' and ten minutes later I got the call that I was gonna play him," he told Breathe Cast in an interview.

Di Pace considers it a great honour to portray Jesus in the new A.D. series, but he admitted that it was a challenge to play someone who is so good and pure.

"It's just so humbling and powerful and weird as well because I never thought that I would play Him or that I could or was good enough," he said. "I'm like the black sheep of my family."

Many actors chosen to play Jesus in films and TV series have experienced some miracle or life-changing realisation on set, and Di Pace is no different.

"During the whole shoot there was definitely an energy that was overpowering, I kind of felt like I had to listen to it," he explained.

The actor tried his best to walk in Jesus' shoes and experience everything the Son of God might have been feeling in order to give a raw and honest portrayal of the character.

"I spent a lot of time on my own because I feel he was a very lonely man especially at the end of his life and this is what we are telling. So it kind of made me go and find that focus and that simplicity," he shared.
