Speculations suggest that the next "God of War" installment will feature the Norse gods, but it is still uncertain if main protagonist Kratos will reprise his role.

According to Kotaku, while it may already be confirmed that a "God of War 4" is in the works because of supposed leaks, giving Kratos the main role once again has its disadvantages. The industry follower mentions that even if Kratos has become the iconic figure for the "God of War" franchise, it seems that with at least a number of story and spin-off games that features the main character, it is time for Kratos to step down.

Meanwhile, Kratos not being a part "God of War 4" is still uncertain, and seems improbable given that supposed leaks still show the hero at the forefront. Digital Trends say that the alleged concept art that leaked online show Kratos in level designs for Alfheim and Vanaheimr, two of the nine realms in Norse mythology.

The leaks are supposedly confirmed in their veracity (meaning that they didn't come from fan arts) so it is certainly plausible that Kratos will battle Norse Gods in the upcoming "God of War" installment. Should this be proven true, then "God of War 4" will certainly give players a whole new content for the franchise, and may even extend to expansions. Norse mythology largely differs from the others because of its scope – the gods having domain over nine world serve as an example.

As for its release date, observers say that "God of War 4" will not be seen any time soon. However, it may release as a PS4 Neo-supported game version. Yibada says that the new title will certainly benefit from the advantages of the PS4 upgrade console. The new PS4.5 system is said to feature heavily-upgraded specs including its graphics and performance features.
