There is still no official date for the release of the third-person adventure video game "God of War" or "God of War 4." Video game fans and critics are hoping for the game to be released in the first quarter of 2018. Fans have already shared their wishlist to the developers and are hoping for the best "God of War" video game of all time.

The gameplay trailer released during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June revealed a new starting weapon for Kratos, bigger enemies, and a friendly sea monster. In the upcoming game installment, Kratos faces greater ordeals as a warrior and a father to his son, Atreus.

In an interview with ComicBook, "God of War" director Cory Barlog revealed that the role of Atreus in the story and in the life of Kratos is massive. "Through the interactions between them you are able to fully understand and actually help change the arc of these characters," he stated.

Fans are hyped to see Kratos in a Viking-like persona with a beard. He is also wielding a glowing axe and controlling it like the way Thor manipulates Mjolnir.

Hardcore "God of War" gamers are waiting for the new weapons to be wielded by Kratos in the upcoming game. There are also ideas about Kratos's daughter, Calliope, making a surprise entrance in the game as a brutal and relentless warrior like her father. In terms combat gameplay, people are asking for more than just a hack-and-slash adventure.

There are several ideas from long-time fans on what should Santa Monica Studio include in the game. The most common suggestion for the game is to include enemies inspired from Norse Mythology like Thor, Odin, Loki, and Heimdallr. The "God of War" video game series is well-known for its wide variety of mythological weapons and powers. Many people are rooting for Loki to be added in the latest installment with his mischievous and playful tricks.

"God of War" is one of the most anticipated games in 2018, for both gamers and critics.
