Bandai Namco Games recently announced that their latest "Godzilla: The Game" title will finally reach the North American and European shores after the game was released in Japan late last year.

The Japanese game developer announced that both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of the new video game adaptation of the classic Japanese movie will come out in the US on July 14 while the European players can get hold of the game on July 17, almost seven months later than its Japanese release date.

However, only the PlayStation 4 version will come out in physical discs, while the PlayStation 3 version can only be downloaded from the PlayStation Network.

The game's release date announcement comes with the first gameplay trailer for the international market.

Based on the trailer, Godzilla will have to face different kinds of monsters that players can use to beat the King of the Monsters.

Bandai announced that players can select among the three modes of the game, including the mission mode wherein the players can crush their way to pass through 20 different stages of destruction, the diorama mode where they can create their preferred Godzilla dream scene, as well as the King of Monsters mode where all the chaotic action begins.

The players can also choose to see the action of the game using the special Movie-Style Camera Angle System that transforms the usual camera view to a unique, pre-set location on the map.

Bandai Namco described the story of the new Godzilla: The Game in its official website, saying:

"Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, first appeared in 1954. Scientists studied Godzilla and found that they could harness energy from the monster. Called "G-Energy," this seemingly endless source of power was used to better the lives of all mankind. 60 years later, just when mankind's memory of the beast faded, Godzilla appeared again. Godzilla destroyed at will, all in search of more G-Energy. Such irony, the same G-Energy which was used to better the people's lives, also caused Godzilla to awaken."
