Veteran guard Ben Gordon is making sure he is in shape to have a bigger chance of reviving his career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) after being signed by reigning champions the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors signed Gordon to be part of their training camp roster and have a chance to make it to  the final team come the 2015–16 regular season.

Gordon, who was drafted number three overall by the Chicago Bulls in 2004, has been a scorer and a great offensive player in his career, but in the past few seasons, his numbers have dropped.

Now the 32-year-old athlete is looking to be energized trying to make it to the Warriors' final roster; he was on a vegetarian diet and had his own chef, Yahoo Sports reported.

"It was good. It cleaned out my system. My energy felt great," the former Sixth Man of the Year stated.

The report said Gordon was on the diet since the closing weeks of the 2014–15 regular season until last July, and it helped him drop from 200 pounds to 185 pounds.

He has since started eating meat again to gain weight and energy.

"I got back to a normal diet. But I like to just switch it up at times. I've noticed a major shift in my energy level when I was using the diet," Gordon said.

The 11-year veteran thrived in his career when he played for the Bulls for five seasons before parting ways with the franchise in 2009.

Gordon then had stints with the Detroit Pistons, the then Charlotte Bobcats, and the Orlando Magic.

Last season, he played in 56 regular season games for Orlando and averaged 6.2 points and 1.1 rebounds per contest.

The Warriors have not really acquired a big name in the offseason and even though Gordon is not really a major star, he is still relatively known.

Gordon's experience will be of help to a young Warriors squad defending their championship in the upcoming season if they consider adding him to the final roster.
