The Golden State Warriors are arguably the best team in the National Basketball Association (NBA) so far in the 2015–16 regular season, and guard Klay Thompson believes he is the best player in the league at the number two position.

In a report by the Inside Bay Area Sports, Thompson was asked who is the best shooting guard in the NBA and he answered, "I'm going to go with myself. We're 26–1."

According to the report, Thompson noted that along with himself, he considered the Houston Rockets' James Harden and the Chicago Bulls' Jimmy Butler.

Thompson, is no doubt playing one of the best seasons in his professional career, and in their past two games was the leading scorer for the Dubs in wins over the Phoenix Suns (128–103) and the Milwaukee Bucks (121–112).

Against the Suns, Thompson exploded for 43 points and against the Bucks dropped 27 points.

The report also mentioned that Thompson is currently shooting at 47.3 percent from the field, a career-best.

ESPN added that the 25-year-old guard is tied for the third spot in the NBA for the most three-pointers made this season with 80.

In 25 games played and started this 2015–16 regular season, Thompson is averaging 19.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 31.7 minutes played per outing.

"When you play with a free mind and you play thinking you're not hurt and you're healthy, that's when you're playing your best," Thompson said, according to ESPN.

"I want to continue playing like this, get better every month. I know I'll have a great year," he added.

Thompson and the Warriors are indeed having a great year after setting the second-longest winning streak in the NBA this season with 28 wins (including four wins from last season).

They are leading the Western Conference and the NBA with their 26–1 record, which they aim to improve with three more games in their current home stand including a Christmas Day showdown versus the Cleveland Cavaliers.
