Golden State Warriors rumors: Stephen Curry sidelined with leg injury

The Golden State Warriors may have to see what they can do with Stephen Curry out of the lineup for the next couple of weeks, with reports from NBC Sports that the reigning National Basketball Association (NBA) Most Valuable Player (MVP) is suffering from a leg bruise.

The Warriors played their first game without Curry against the Dallas Mavericks and it didn't really turn out that great.

In fact, the Warriors got dumped by the Dallas Mavericks (114–91) and will most likely sit out the team's next match against the Houston Rockets as well. Prior to their game at Dallas, the word out was that Curry will be missing just two games.

According to interim coach Luke Walton, the injury doesn't seem to be that serious and all Curry needs is to rest his leg to bring down the soreness.

Curry's shoes will be pretty big to fill in, although expect Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to pick their games up a notch to make up for Curry's absence.

As far as his position is concerned, Shaun Livingston has been tasked to fill in for the meantime.

At this stage, giving key players like Curry, Green, and Thompson a break could be a good idea for the Warriors to prep the team for bigger wars ahead, particularly by the second half of the season when most teams are expected to make a big run for the post season berths.

The Warriors are currently 29–2 after that loss to the Mavericks but hardly matters at least at this point. They are still leading in the Western Conference and their nearest threat comes from the San Antonio Spurs.

The Warriors are still on track as far as attaining winning 70 games is concerned, but the health of Curry and the rest of the key Warrior players is obviously the priority. The main agenda for the Warriors is to, of course, win back-to-back titles and their chances of doing that lies on the health of their key players.
