'Goliath' season 2 air date, spoilers: 'Top binged series' ready for season 2?

Billy Bob Thornton stars as Billy McBride in "Goliath" Amazon

While Amazon has yet to come out with confirmation, it is expected that its gripping livestream original drama "Goliath" is a shoo-in for season 2.

Deadline believes that "Goliath" will be a continuing series, with season 2 already in the works. In the midst of livetsream originals hogging the headlines, Amazon has reportedly revealed that the David E. Kelly drama series is the "top binged first season of a US-produced Amazon original series ever over its first ten days." This is already a hint that Amazon will have to continue the adaptation.

However, even if Amazon has already qualified the show as one of its most-watched series, viewer ratings have yet to come out. According to MovieNewsGuide, Amazon has yet to announce a renewal for the season, and it seems that the studio is still waiting for the ratings to show. The show's outcome is not helped by vague statements from its creators. Asked if a new season is waiting, producer David E. Kelly has been quoted as saying, "It would definitely be a new case. There are other cases that come behind it. So if we're lucky, we'll get to go on to year two."

While not a direct confirmation, this hints that the creative team behind the show is actively seeking new avenues for the show. It also assures fans that should "Goliath" season 2 come around, it will involve a new case, story, and characters.

"Goliath" is basically a story of redemption for once big-time lawyer Billy McBride (Billy Bob Thornton), who turned to heavy drinking and alcoholism when he lost a major case. With nothing left in his life, McBride is once again taking center stage in the courts when he comes across an intriguing case involving his friend and former colleague.

"Goliath" also stars famous country singer and actor Dwight Yoakam, William Hurt, Olivia Thirlby, Maria Bello, among others.
