Cush Jumbo and Margo Martindale will make their debut in the premiere episode of "The Good Wife" season 7.

The episode, simply titled "Bond," will follow Alicia as she tries to rise from her past tribulations and rebuild herself as a reputable attorney. In order to do this, she will be representing arrestees who want to be released on bail in bond court. This line of work will pit her directly against Jumbo's character Lucca Quinn, an attorney who will try her best not to let her and her clients succeed. 

Meanwhile, season 7 will also see Peter vying for the presidential post. To make this aspect of the show more realistic, he will compete against Hillary Clinton who, in real life, is running for head of state. In this endeavor, he makes an enemy of Chief of Staff Eli Gold. 

Peter will enlist the help of campaign operative Ruth Eastman, a new character to be given life to by Martindale. It was already teased that Ruth has both the charm and the craftiness, which will, in a way, make her all the more perfect in helping out someone like Peter. 

Martindale's character was previewed in the trailer for "The Good Wife" season 7. In one scene, she is left surprised by Alicia not wanting to get involved with Peter's campaign.

Fans will also see Alicia transforming upon the show's return. In the preview, the former state attorney relishes her independence, which allows her to establish a new law firm with new people and be around new spaces and environments. 

"For the first time in my life, I don't have to answer to anyone," she tells Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox), who seems to be surprised by her remark. 

Still, Alicia won't be able to escape a few more competitions, tensions and challenges when "The Good Wife" season 7 airs starting Oct. 4.
