Julianna Margulies's Alicia Florrick returns with a new office in the next season of "The Good Wife," which will start in a few weeks. The first trailer for the seventh season was recently released, showing how she enjoys being her own boss and having no husband to attend to.

"For the first time in my life, I don't have to answer to anyone," Alicia says.

The trailer also introduces a new character, Ruth Eastman (Margo Martindale), who is believed to be working for Alicia's husband Peter (Chris Noth) as a campaign agent for his presidential bid.

The character directly asks Alicia if she wants to help her husband in his bid to become the next president of the United States, saying: "Are you saying you wouldn't be involved in your husband's campaign?"

Alicia promptly replies with a resounding "yes."

Eastman's participation in Peter's campaign seems to cause a major conflict between her and Eli Gold (Alan Cumming), Peter's trusted chief of staff. But the trailer also shows a big argument between Peter and Eli, who are both determined to make each other accept their opposing points of view.

Aside from Eastman, other new characters will be introduced in the new season of "The Good Wife." One of them is Alicia's new investigator, Jason Crouse, who will be portrayed by veteran TV actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Jason will take over the post left by Kalinda Sharma (Archie Panjabi), who is currently on the run after the authorities discovered that she made a counterfeit Brady violation to save Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry). Speculations claim that Jason could be a possible love interest for Alicia this season, which might cause problems between her and Peter.

"The Good Wife" season 7 is slated to premiere on Oct. 4 on CBS.
