Google Lens will be available in the Assistant in the coming weeks.

In a blog post, Google announced that the very helpful tool will soon be available to all Pixel users.

First revealed in May, the Google Lens is set to be a valuable addition to Google Assistant. The new feature is powered by artificial intelligence algorithm, allowing it to recognize real-world items in real time. That means users can just point their Pixel and Pixel 2 cameras at an object and get all the information they need through Google Assistant.

Google Lens is not yet capable of identifying every single object, but it should be able to in time. But even now, it can make life so much easier.

Google Lens can identify texts — such as numbers and addresses typed in business cards, written on notepads, or posted on fliers. Users need not type every single letter to save on the phone, as the Assistant can do it for them. It could also call the numbers directly, or find the address on Google Maps.

Those who love traveling and exploring new places will find a very interesting company in the Google Lens, which can identify notable landmarks and find out their history.

It can also be very helpful when trying to find the best movies, books, and artworks. By pointing the camera at a movie poster, users can get movie reviews and an access to the film's trailer. Point it at books and get its ratings as well as short synopses. As for artworks, Google lens can give the artist's info and more. Users can save event reminders for movie premieres and art exhibits to their calendars straight from the Google Lens.

It can also be used to scan barcodes.

Google Lens will be available to all Pixel phones set in English across the U.S., UK., Australia, Canada, India, and Singapore in the coming weeks. It can be accessed through the Google Assistant at the Google Lens icon at the bottom right corner.
