Although Google has yet to officially unveil the Google Nexus models for this year, popular rumors suggest that they might launch within the week. According to analyst Evan Blass via Twitter, Android 7.0 Nougat may be launching as early as Aug. 4 or Aug. 5 and the Nexus phones might launch simultaneously with them.

According to the analysis, the official build of Android 7.0 Nougat may be launching within the next few days and this will come with a brand new security patch. In past years the Google Nexus often launched alongside the newest Android version and for this reason it has been speculated they will again launch together this year.

However, the reports are also stating that there is a possibility Android 7.0 Nougat is releasing earlier than initially planned. While Android Nougat might be ready for launch, the two Google Nexus phones from HTC, codenamed Marlin and Sailfish might not.

The IBTimes indicate that they might not be ready for an immediate launch and instead will be released in October. This is based on an unidentified inside source that the site confirms had been accurate in the past. If the leaks are true then Android 7.0 Nougat will release this week but the Google Nexus phones will come two months later.

Rumors suggest that the Marlin will feature a 5.5-inch display while the Sailfish will sport a smaller 5-inch display. They will come with a fingerprint scanner in the back and 4GB RAM. Both will be running on Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box and an improved 12MP camera on the back and an 8MP camera on the front.

However, Google has yet to confirm or deny any of the rumors which means the phones could launch at a different date than rumored. Fans speculate, however, that the two phones will launch between this August and October.
