A new Geekbench listing shows a Nexus 5 smartphone allegedly running with the 5.2 version of Android Lollipop.

It was not too long ago when the 5.1 version was spotted on AndroidOne handsets, hinting the operating system's imminent rollout to numerous Android-based devices. However, the appearance of the 5.2 version suggests that Android might be gearing up for another major update. If rumors prove to be true, then it is only natural that Nexus devices would get the first dibs on the new operating system. However, there is a possibility that the mobile OS in the listing is a custom ROM, which is a false Android version. After all, it would be a bit strange for Google to roll out Android 5.2 right after the 5.1 version.

Meanwhile, the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update is creeping to various Android-based OEMs. However, bugs and issues have been spotted in the handsets after the upgrade. For example, users are complaining that the update results to battery drain on their smartphones, which causes inconvenience. 

Google attempted to resolve the battery drain issue and other bugs in the handset by rolling out the alleged Android 5.0.1 OS update. Some users were reportedly disappointed as they are still experiencing battery drain, app crashes, weak signals, inability to connect to Wi-Fi networks, and even spontaneous reboots of the device when it goes into sleep mode. It is expected that the search giant will roll out more updates in the near future to put an end to these issues, but so far, Google has not rolled out a major software upgrade with effective bug fixes as well as stable performance and improved features. 

Meanwhile, the Google Nexus 5 features a 4.95-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) screen display and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC paired with 2 GB of RAM. Other features include an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2300 mAh battery capacity. The handset is available in Google Play Store in 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage options, which cost $349 and $399, respectively.
