The hype for the next-generation Google Nexus 7 has been around for quite some time now and fans and tech geeks alike have grown to become keyed up and at the same time are contemplating as to what's keeping it from releasing. That being said, rumors are getting rife that the company that the search engine giant tapped in making the device might have ditched the said project.

The company in question here is the Chinese conglomerate Huawei that has been in partnership with Google in making its renowned Nexus handhelds. If rumors do fit, it is said that the company has refused to work on Google's future projects including the much awaited Nexus 7 2016 as the latter is rumored to be keen on dropping the Huawei branding on their upcoming devices, though it was already evident in both the Pixel and Pixel XL.

Nevertheless, it was noted that Huawei still expressed its intent to be working with Google provided that they'll be given proper recognition for their efforts.

However, the long-standing corporate bond between two companies may be on the verge of breaking up as reports suggest that HTC may have been already tapped by Google in making the Nexus 7 2016 come to fruition. Hence, this could mean that the purported holiday release of the said device could be further delayed until next year. However, these mentioned theories should be taken with extra caution as the concerned parties have yet to make a statement on this matter.

Meanwhile, the Google Nexus 7 is said to be carrying the revolutionary Andromeda operating system that will be featured first on Google's future ultraportable 2-in-1 devices and tablets. Furthermore, it is also rumored to be infused with the Snapdragon 820 processor, though this could be tweaked to a more buffed Snapdragon 835.

Fans are advised to stay tuned for the latest news regarding this development.
