Nexus 9 pre-order: Shipping dates for Amazon, Best Buy vary

The new Google Nexus 9 is reportedly available for pre-order from various retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy and Future Shop.

Google finally took the wraps off the Nexus 9 tablet. Since the announcement of the Nexus 9 tablet boasting top-of-the-line specs and features, consumers cannot wait to get their hands on the new device. For the first time, the Nexus devices will no longer be available in Google Play Store alone as it will officially hit various sellers like carriers and retailers.

According to Google, the pre-order for the device will start on Oct. 17 with shipping dates starting on Nov. 3. However, some retailers listed different delivery dates.

Amazon offers the 16 GB version of the new Nexus tablet for $399.99 and the 32 GB variant for $479.99. HTC gladly threw in free shipping although the listing does not specify the exact delivery date. However, reports claim that HTC will deliver on Nov. 3.

In Canada, electronics retailers Best Buy and Future Shop offers the 16 GB (WiFi only) of Nexus 9 tablet for $469.99 and the 32 GB variant for $559.99. The delivery date is unspecified, but the retailers posted that the devices will arrive in their warehouses on Nov. 10.

Meanwhile, there is no word yet from carriers when they will open the pre-orders for the device.

Google Nexus 9 boasts an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display with Quad HD (1536 x 2048) screen resolution. It is powered by an Nvidia's 64-bit-enabled Tegra K1 chipset with dual-core 2.3 Denver CPU and Kepler DX1 GPU and runs with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, which supports 64-bit chipsets.

The handset also packs 3 GB RAM, 16 GB and 32 GB of internal storage options, 8 MP back camera with autofocus and LED flash, 1.6 MP front facing camera, stereo speakers with HTC Boomsound, and a 6700 mAh battery. The smartphone also comes with WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and microUSB 2.0.
