Google Nexus 9 release date may come soon as its predecessor, Nexus 7, receives yet another discount.

Online retailer Amazon has a lot of good deals lately, including the Nexus 7, which is now up for grabs. Nexus 7, and other Nexus devices, was known for having a friendly price tag. However, the device is now available at a much cheaper price.

Last year's version of 16GB Nexus 7 now costs $203 from its original price of $229, which saves the consumers 12 percent. The Nexus 7 (2013) tablet comes with a 7-inch screen display with 323 ppi, 1.5GHz quad-core processor paired with a 2GB of RAM, originally runs with Android 4.2.2 JellyBean but can be updated to the latest version of Kitkat OS.

The 32GB version of the first generation of Nexus 7, on the other hand, now costs $147, which almost slashed the original price of $249 by half. The tablet comes with 7-inch display, 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage.

According to rumors, the Nexus 9 tablet will be manufactured by Taiwanese mobile manufacturer HTC and dubbed as "Volantis". The tablet will allegedly pack an 8.9-inch screen with 2048 x 1440 pixel resolution and 221dpi, 2GB RAM, and HTC's famous front-facing speakers. There are also speculations that the tablet will house NVIDIA's Tegra K1 processor. Surprisingly, the device has "NEXUS" inscribed at the back just like the previous models.

Reports state that the tablet will cost $399 for the 16GB version, $499 for the 32GB version, while the LTE version will have a price tag of $600. There are speculations that the alleged HTC-made Nexus 9 will replace Google's previous tablets – Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

It is also reported that the Nexus 9 will battle head-on with iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro 3. The Nexus 9 release date, it is believed, will happen in the fall alongside the Nexus 6 smartphone. However, Google is tight-lipped about the details of its plans and devices as well as the release date of its future devices.
