Official Google Blog

Fresh from its Sept. 29 Nexus event, fans of Google are still hyped about the company's new and upcoming lineups.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow launch

A main focus of the event was the official confirmation of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow platform, as evidenced by the press invites where Google highlighted "tasty treats and much s'more."

In the event, Google also confirmed that the new platform will be updated for its Nexus devices, even the older ones. According to UberGizmo, the confirmed list of Nexus phones with a ready Android 6.0 update include the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9, and the Nexus Player.

Two new Nexus phones

Already leaked through previous reports and speculations, it was no surprise when Google took the veil off the Nexus 5X by LG and Nexus 6P by China-based Huawei.

LG's take on the new Nexus 5 sports a 5.2-inch full HD display and a Snapdragon 808 processor, and other features made the unit a mid-range smartphone flagship. Huawei's Nexus 6P, on the other hand, can be considered a premium flagship, with its 5.7-inch QHD display, aluminum chassis, and Snapdragon 810 chipset.

Both flagships include a fingerprint sensor and access to Android Pay (for U.S. users). They will be made available for pre-orders through Google Store.

Pixel C tablet

One of the surprise products that made it to the event was the new Pixel C tablet. Google announced the hybrid as a professional-level 2-in-1 device. It will come with a 10.2-inch display, run by Android, and will have an optional keyboard accessory.

New Chromecast

Google unveiled the new look and design of the Chromecast, which also comes with robust specs under the hood. The new Chromecast will have faster WiFi connectivity and much clearer streaming due to three separate antenna receptors.

There is also a new Chromecast audio, for fans who want to stream music from mobile devices to a conventional speaker.
