Google will reportedly be having a launch event for their new Nexus smartphones this coming Sept. 29.

News of the supposed launch event came from an anonymous source and was reported by CNet.

For months now, rumors have been circulating about the two new Nexus smartphones that will be coming out from Google.

The first one, which will probably be named the Nexus 5X, will be made by LG, according to Android Authority. LG and Google have a significant history in terms of working together on smartphones. The upcoming Nexus 5X would be the third one manufactured by LG for Google, following the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 models.

The second smartphone will likely be the Nexus 6, a new device to be manufactured by China's Huawei. Unlike LG, this will be the first crack Huawei will get at making a Nexus phone.

Some of the specs and features of both smartphones have also been leaked online.

According to ZD Net, there will likely be two distinct differences between the two Nexus phones.

First off, Huawei's model is expected to be the bigger of the two, with a display size believed to be around 5.7 inches as opposed to the one on the LG model which is expected to come in at 5.2 inches.

The two Nexus units are also expected to feature different forms. LG's Nexus 5X will most likely feature a smooth back panel which would be similar to other smartphones out on the market. The same is not believed to be the case with Huawei's Nexus 6, as the new phone is expected to have a noticeable bump at the back which will be housing its camera and flash module.

Apart from those two differences, the offerings from Huawei and LG are expected to offer the same specs and features including 3 GB of memory and access to the new Android Marshmallow update.
