Following the success of the first Pixel smartphone, Google has confirmed the release of the next-generation device within this year. In order to keep up with its competitors, there have been reports that the Google Pixel 2 will come with a completely new design, including an edge-to-edge display.

Concept Creator on YouTube released a video about possible designs Google might come up with for the Pixel 2. With not much reports to base the design on, the video creator came up with the design by using some concepts from the first Pixel and other concepts from competitors. Concept Creator gave Pixel 2 a bezel-less design, which is one of high selling points today. An edge-to-edge display provides the smartphone with a sleek design making it look attractive to users.

The design also included dual cameras for the front and back of the Pixel 2. The first-generation Pixel already had high-quality cameras, but having dual cameras for both sides of the phone for the next-generation device will make it highly competitive with the other smartphones available in the market.

Other rumored specs for the phone include a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which is also used by the Samsung Galaxy S8. Furthermore, the Pixel 2 is reported to be able to support the Daydream virtual reality platform, which is also made by Google.

The standard model of Google Pixel 2 is expected to be priced at around $699, while the XL version of the phone is expected to cost an additional $100.

Google will be holding its I/O developer conference, scheduled to start on Wednesday, May 17, which may be the time and place that they announce further details about the next-generation Pixel smartphones.

Google Pixel 2 is expected to be available for purchase sometime in October of this year.
