It is only a matter of hours until the public can finally see the next iteration of Google Pixel smartphones. Although, specs and design leaks of the much-awaited Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL continue to surface online thus giving handset enthusiasts an idea on what to expect during the launch. For one, the massive Google Pixel 2 XL was seen sporting a redesigned Google home screen.

As reported by The Verge, one of the major changes expected in the Google Pixel 2 XL is the updated Google home screen. The information came from the ever-reliable tech leaker Evan Blass, who recently posted two images of the Pixel 2 XL handset. Unlike the previous render leaks, the latest Pixel 2 XL images are very clear that the front features of the handset can be viewed easily. Although, the interesting part of the leaked photos is the new look of the Google home screen.

The leaked Google Pixel 2 XL image shows the new home screen with the Google search bar located at the bottom portion. To note, the Google search bar is located at the topmost part of the screen in the 2016 Google Pixel smartphones. The Verge sees the change in location as an advantage, as the Google search bar will now be easier to reach.

The Google Pixel 2 XL leak also reveals the home screen having a new widget at the top to display the appointment details of the user. The widget is also seen showing the current weather conditions in the user's area. However, it has yet to be known if the new widget in the Google Pixel 2 XL home screen is customizable. The current Pixel handset version also introduced a new widget and Google search button, but some users have complained that these features cannot be adjusted or removed.

Earlier design leaks of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL reveal the new look of the upcoming premium smartphones. The Pixel 2 XL leak came out as a shocker, showing a massive 6-inch display, which is about half an inch bigger than the previous Pixel XL. As for the Pixel 2 design, some people were disappointed with the leaks as they reveal the device with huge bezels on the top and bottom display.

The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be unveiled at the search engine giant's special hardware event on Oct. 4. Aside from the new handsets, Google is also expected to launch the Google Home mini speaker and the new Chromebook Pixel laptop.
