Just a few days ago, we were treated to some teases about the new Google Pixel 3 XL handset.  Now, there are some more interesting tidbits emerging, specifically about the device's casing.

Last week, WinFuture tipster Roland Quandt tweeted that Google was working on a third "mid-range" Pixel 3 device that would feature the Snapdragon 710 processor.

"Google is working on a "mobile" device based on the Snapdragon 710 currently scheduled for launch in the 1st half of 2019. Sounds like this might be the (or one of them) upcoming mid-range Pixel phone," he tweeted.

The tip was certainly some positive news for smartphone lovers interested in the Pixel device but put off by the premium price tag and would provide some competition for the new budget version of the iPhone X that Apple is bringing out in September.

And leaked photos of the Pixel 3 XL teased a design that incorporates a notch and a single camera on the rear of the device, although the front appears to sport two.  The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL both featured only one camera on the back and it didn't affect strong sales of the device, so if the leaks turn out to be the real deal and not simply a prototype, Google can bet on its past performance to do well with this continuation in the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

And of course, if you are not a fan of the notch, you can still opt for the Pixel 3, which appears to be going without a notch.

But now for the interesting news about the latest leaks, which come courtesy of xda-developers who claim to have spoken to the xda member behind the release of the Pixel 3 images, meraz9000, and they apparently said that the phone "likely has a glass back" and that the case is "definitely not plastic or metal."

That would be a departure from the designs of the Pixel and Pixel 2 which did not have a glass back.  And what's more, the xda-developers claim that the Android P beta 2 hints at the possibility that the Google Pixel 3 will come with wireless charging docks and both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL rolling out with the Active Edge feature.

All the signs suggest the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL  are going to be awesome.
