The GoPro Hero 5 has finally been launched. Many users have already spent time with the latest action camera for GoPro, allowing them to get into some of its greatest features.

The new Hero-branded camera is miles better than its predecessors in both the performance and the design department. GoPro made sure to keep it small and simple even though it is a heavyweight inside.

The GoPro Hero 5 traded physical buttons and controls for a touchscreen display, which makes navigation and the all-around user experience much easier and more efficient.

This also makes the device much sleeker in appearance as GoPro got rid of the physical buttons that make it look cluttered or complicated.

Although the touchscreen already makes things far easier in the GoPro Hero 5, it can get even more painless, thanks to the voice control support. The device recognizes seven languages namely English, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese.

In other words, users can just tell the GoPro Hero 5 to "take a photo" or "capture a burst," and the action camera will do it all on its own.

The built-in waterproof on the GoPro Hero 5 also makes it feel more of an action camera. Previous iterations of the device required users to buy a separate waterproof casing to be able to use them on water.

These dark days have come to an end. Those who have always wanted to capture moments underwater or while swimming and diving will definitely appreciate this nifty addition.

Perhaps the most welcome change is the inclusion of a Global Positioning System, or GPS, which helps the GoPro Hero 5 record the location of both videos and images.

With regards to the actual recording, the GoPro Hero 5 allows users to capture in HDR or high-dynamic-range mode. A new "Linear" field of view was also added.

The device was also tweaked for better video stabilization so that photos and videos will have better quality. It also now comes with three noise-reducing microphones instead of one for improved audio.

The GoPro Hero 5 camera comes in a Session version for $199 and a Black version for $299.
