The launch of the GoPro Hero 5 has been pushed back once again to October 2016 to allow for more time to improve features and specs of the high-speed action camera.

According to Crossmap, the Hero 5 should be ready for a October 2016 release although these reports do not come straight from a company announcement, so users might want to take this rumour with a grain of salt.

Previously, rumours pointed to an early 2016 launch, but that has been pushed back to allow more time for GoPro to test and add to the features of the fifth-generation camera for the company.

The GoPro Hero 5 is said to have a higher resolution and frames per second shooting capacity, as the new camera will be able to shoot in 8K resolution- the GoPro Hero 4 can shoot up to 4K resolution- and shoot in 60 frames per second, which is also twice the capacity compared to that of the GoPro Hero 4.

The next-in-line extreme action camera is also rumoured to be able to take photos and videos underwater without the water-proofing accessories that used to be sold separately. The depth capacity is believed to be 60 meters, according to the Day Herald.

At CES 2016, GoPro introduced the Karma Drone, which will be built and designed by the company itself, and reports are saying that the unmanned flying drone will be packaged with a GoPro Hero 5 camera. If these rumours prove to be true, then the Hero 5 will most likely be the smallest camera made by GoPro to date so as to fit it properly into the drone.

With the GoPro Hero 5 now made available for land, air and water shooting, it's expected that the price of the extreme action camera will go up. It is believed that the price will be somewhere between $450 and $550.
