GoPro Hero fans have been anticipating the release of the rumored GoPro Hero 5. While several reports that there will be a new action camera from GoPro, the release date was delayed to a few months from its previously reported date, as stated in Venture Capital Post.

Earlier speculations mentioned that the GoPro Hero 5 will be launched this October, but apparently fans may need to wait a little bit longer.

According to reports, the delay is due to the fact that the creators are applying more upgrades and tweaks to the device to make the action camera truly stand out.

GoPro Hero 5 is rumored to be lighter and much smaller than its predecessor. It was also reported in Bidness Etc that Hero 5 has an 8k-video recording ability and at full HD, this means double the resolution that of Hero 4 Black.

In addition, Hero 5 can also record 4k videos at 60 frames per second (fps), which surpasses the 30 fps of its predecessor.

There was also the rumor about the camera being waterproof and will be appropriate for use underwater if it's from 60 to 100 feet deep.

This waterproof ability only means that users don't have to buy extra accessories — which will only make the device heavier — to allow recording of their adventures underwater.

GoPro Hero 5 is also rumored to have a powerful battery to extend recording. As Day Herald reported, the device will have the ability to record adventures for up to two hours.

Since the release date for Hero 5 will be delayed, it is expected that the action camera will be a bit more expensive.

The device could cost about $550, which is higher than the previously speculated price of $450. Will Hero 5 be worth buying when it comes out? People will just have to wait and find out when Hero 5 arrives.
