Although GoPro is already a household name when it comes to action cameras, some avid fans have commented that in order to make convenient wireless transfers of data, they would need to at least pick up premium GoPro devices with WiFi, or else go for other action cams that have the same feature but at a much lower price.

GoPro seems to have heard their laments, as the company recently announced that it would be coming out with a budget action cam that has all the GoPro features but at a competitive price.

According to GoPro founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman, the new GoPro Hero+ can do more for less. Woodman stressed, "Whether mounted to a weather balloon floating 100,000 feet above the earth to capture a sunrise across the stratosphere or in the hands of a child recording their backyard tree house adventures, HERO+ is built to capture your imagination wherever it takes you."

In addition, the Hero+ will have all the bells and whistles of other GoPro premium flagships but will be simple enough that even first-time action cam users can quickly adjust to it. Woodman pointed out, "Even as we continue to raise the bar for our highest performing cameras like HERO4 Black, Silver and Session, we remain committed to developing simplified products like HERO+ that make GoPro life-capture accessible to everyone."

The Hero+, much like other cameras in the GoPro lineup, captures both 1080p and 720p videos at 60 fps and 8-MP quality photos. In addition, although the Hero+ will retail for just around $200, users will be able to use the camera outdoors, as it will carry the staple ruggedness and durability of GoPro action cams. What's more, the Hero+ will also come with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity features so that users will have convenient and faster transfers of videos and images from the camera to GoPro's mobile app.
