Another villain will target the citizens of "Gotham" City when the FOX series returns after its winter break.

Speaking with TV Line, creator and showrunner Bruno Heller hinted that Dr. Hugo Strange, the deranged psycho-analyst who developed a particular obsession to Bruce Wayne, will appear very soon in the series. In the DC comics, he is portrayed as a bald, bearded man with trademark coke-bottle glasses and bushy eyebrows. Although considered a genius in his own right with a broad know-how about chemicals and genetics, Strange suffers from bouts of schizophrenia. This makes him an extremely volatile and unstable foe.

Bruce considers Strange as nothing less than "the most dangerous man in the world." While very little is known about him, he takes the honor of being one of the greatest crime organizer in all DC-dom. Before he became fixated with Batman, he organized bank robberies like the pro that he was. According to Wikia, his signature modus was the use of a dense fog to cover up his goons while they run away with the money. When Batman learned of the heists that Strange had organized, he set out to capture him. This was the time that the professor started to see Bruce as his ultimate enemy.

Batman beat Strange to a pulp that night. When the latter came around, he vowed that he would spend his every waking minute avenging himself from the superhero. Strange has claimed he knows Batman's true identity. In fact, he wanted to become the Caped Crusader himself.

In the FOX series, he will be played by DB Wong of "Law & Order: SVU." During the first half of the season, viewers saw many bodies being brought to Indian Hill facility, including those of Barbara (Erin Richards) and Galavan (James Frain). The lab belongs to Strange and he is known for conducting inhuman experiments on people. Viewers will now see the face behind the madness, as the professor is done doing his work at the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Heller also talked about the other villain who will make Gordon's (Ben Mckenzie) world a bitterly cold and hellish place. Mr. Freeze will come to bring chaos and put in motion his evil plan for the citizens of Gotham. Heller previewed Mr. Freeze's agenda when the series returns for its second half.

"We're telling the Freeze story in classic style, from its origins. What you saw there is the "beta test." It's very early on in the story of Mr. Freeze," he teased.

"Gotham" season 2 will return on Feb. 29, 2016 at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
