Jim (Ben McKenzie) discovers the Court of Owls' hidden weapon in the upcoming episode of "Gotham" season 3.

Titled "Heroes Rise: Light The Wick," next week's episode will see Jim get one step closer to the truth. According to the official synopsis, Jim finds out about the Court of Owls' plan to destroy the entire Gotham City with a secret weapon. His quest for the truth leads him to a dangerous path as he tries to locate the weapon. Ivy (Maggie Geha) comes to rescue Selina (Camren Bicondova), while Kathryn (guest star Leslie Hendrix) and the temple Shaman (guest star Raymond J. Barry) inform Bruce (David Mazouz) about their next move.

In the promo from Fox, a determined Bruce is seen training very hard. The Shaman assures him that through patience, he can get the power he "never thought possible." Jim tells Kathryn he wants to know more about the Court of Owls' plan by having a seat on the council. She gives him a playful look, as if he needs to prove how much he wants the seat first before she agrees to his offer.

Ahead of its season 3 finale in June, "Gotham" has recently scored a renewal from Fox. Although the order comes a bit late in the season, the show has always been expected to get renewed for another run. Its ratings are not as high as the other Fox dramas (average of 4.6 million viewers and 1.6 rating in the 18–49 demo), but the series still outperforms other shows on the bubble such as "The Exorcist," "APB," and "Scream Queens."

Since its season 3 debut, "Gotham" has proved itself as the strongest renewal prospect for top 20th TV-based producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Unfortunately, the duo's other Fox comedy programs "Making History" and "Son of Zorn" have been canceled by the network.

The third season of "Gotham" airs every Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
