FOX has tapped "Person of Interest" alum James Carpinello to play the role of mob leader Carmine Falcone's (John Doman) son Mario in "Gotham" season 3.

According to TVLine, Mario Falcone is considered as Carmine's prodigal son for turning away from his family's crime business to live a clean life as a highly respected ER doctor. But while this will not cause any trouble in Gotham City when he returns home for season 3, Mario's arrival will still affect Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) in a huge way.

The report said that Mario will interfere in Jim's attempt to win back his former fiancée, Lee (Morena Baccarin). Does it mean that a love triangle will happen next season?

Meanwhile, new casting reports announced that the network finally found the actress who will portray the teenage version of Poison Ivy.

"All My Children" alum Maggie Geha will replace young actress Clare Foley to feature the full-on transformation of the highly intelligent orphan named Ivy Pepper to become the future eco-terrorist villain who has her sights on Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz).

Entertainment Weekly revealed Geha's character description, which reads: "Following an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, Ivy Pepper finds herself reborn, and one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy. Now a 19-year-old woman who's harnessed the full power of her charms, she sets her sights on Bruce Wayne."

FOX also released the official synopsis for "Gotham" season 3, which reads:

"On Season Three of Gotham (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), the origin story continues and the stakes are higher than ever, as Super-Villains more ambitious and depraved are introduced, and a realignment of alliances shakes up the fight for power in Gotham City."

The return of Jim and Bruce for "Gotham" season 3 is slated to air on Sept. 19.
