The cast and crew of "Gotham" returns in New York to film the show's third season.

Behind-the-scenes images were unveiled by Comic Book Movie, showing the first look at the new character named Valerie Vale, which will be portrayed by the "Real World" alum Jamie Chung.

Based on the DC Comics series, Valerie Vale is the aunt of Bruce Wayne's love interest Vicki. But since David Mazouz's Bruce is still a teenager, it seems like Ben Mackenzie's character Jim Gordon will be the one to have a romantic relationship with Valerie in the police procedural action series especially since Morena Baccarin's Leslie Thompkins appears to be out of the picture.

Aside from Valerie, the third season of "Gotham" will also introduce some of the infamous villains from the "Batman" series. It includes Carmine Falcone's son Mario, played by James Carpinello. FOX is also searching for actors who will portray the role of The Mad Hatter, The Court of Owls, and Solomon Grundy for the upcoming season.

"Gotham" season 3 will feature an older Poison Ivy when the series returns this fall. During the first two seasons, Ivy Pepper was portrayed by young actress Maggie Geha. But she has transformed to become a 19-year-old seductress with special powers who sets her eyes on Bruce in season 3.

Some of the returning cast members in the third season of "Gotham" includes Michael Chiklis as Captain Nathaniel Barnes, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/The Riddler, and Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox. B.D. Wong's Dr. Hugo Strange is also expected to be seen in the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, executive producer John Stephens revealed that they are still hoping to see more of Jada Pinkett Smith's character, Fish Mooney, when the series returns for its third season.

"We're trying to bring her back," Stephens told Zap2it. "We certainly hope to see her at the beginning of next year and we're building stories around the expectation that you'll be seeing her from the beginning of Season 3."

"Gotham" season 3 premieres on FOX on Sept. 19.
