Someone is set to be back in the upcoming "Gotham" season 4 episode 11, titled "A Dark Knight: Queen Takes Knight." Cameron Monaghan will be once again seen as Jerome Valeska, the crazy, criminal psychopath, and a murderer, as the episode's synopsis teases the return of a "familiar smile."

The anarchist has been resurrected from the dead to spread terror in Gotham City, but he was imprisoned in the Arkham Asylum once again. He was last mentioned in the previous season's episode 19, titled "Heroes Rise: All Will Be Judged."

In "Gotham" season 4 episode 11's official synopsis, things will be complicated for Commissioner Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Sofia (Crystal Reed), and Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) as Carmine Falcone (guest star John Doman) will come to Gotham City. Also, Alfred (Sean Pertwee) will do his best to get through to Bruce (David Mazouz).

Also, in "A Dark Knight: Queen Takes Knight," Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) will be having a hard time taking control of The Riddler's persona. Tabitha (Jessica Lucas), too, will try to make Grundy (Drew Powell) remember his past.

Perhaps the highlight of the upcoming episode is the return of a familiar smile in "Gotham." There are swirling rumors that the returning character will be Jerome as Monaghan teased his role's return on his Instagram account.

Earlier this month, the 24-year-old actor shared a snap of a director's chair with his character's name inside a studio. Although he did not write any caption for the picture, this made his followers excited as some predicted his return in the FOX series.

There are reports that Jerome's appearance in "Gotham" season 4 episode 11 will open up a new storyline. His return, too, might be the fall's finale and may hint the show's return.

"Gotham" season 4 episode 11, titled "A Dark Knight: Queen Takes Knight," will be released on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
