American drama series "Gotham" season 4 episode 12 will feature more exciting scenes. However, fans need to wait a little more as the series will not air another episode until spring.

Fox released a preview of the upcoming episode that teases the events that will happen after Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) is captured. To recall, the plan of Sofia (Crystal Reed) that leads to the capture of the villain was successful. She left clues for Gordon (Ben McKenzie) so he will find out that it was Penguin who orchestrated her father's death.

Sofia also masterminded the ambush of Carmine Falcone (John Doman) when he arrived in Gotham City. She did this in order to avenge the death of her brother. She also sacrificed her father in order to con Gordon and the GCPD. The episode ended with Sofia being proclaimed as queen, while Penguin was brought to prison where he met Jerome Valeska.

Episode 12 will feature a battle between Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) and Penguin. The two will be fighting for the position of the king of prison. Jerome will try to use Penguin as his personal puppet, but being the former king of the underworld, Penguin will not follow The Joker. The two will continue their battle for supremacy, but who will end up victorious? Who will bow down and submit to the other? Or will they eventually work together to take over Gotham City?

On the other hand, David Mazouz, who plays Bruce Wayne, said that the return of The Joker in the second half of "Gotham" season 4 means more trouble for Gotham City. In an interview with ComicBook, Mazouz said that Jerome will team up with other villains and they will try to take over the city. He said that it will be a "terrible, terrible fiasco."

It remains to be seen how Bruce Wayne will fix the mess as a result of Joker's return. But executive producer Bryan Wynbrandt is certain that the show will end up with a bang, which will make fans ask for more. He told ComicBook there is plenty left for them to put on the table after season 4. He hinted that the season will end with a major cliffhanger.

"Gotham" season 4 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
