FOX's superhero drama series "Gotham" season 4 is being graced by a lot of villains. With the coming of Scarecrow (Charlie Tahan) and Professor Pyg (Michael Cerveris), another one is set to be added to the list.

Peyton List will be joining the roster of the television show's iconic Batman villains as Poison Ivy. However, it is not yet revealed if the 31-year-old star is going to be a recurring guest star this season or will be seen in the next installment.

In the statement obtained by Deadline, the "Gotham" season 4 producers announced that Poison Ivy's origin story will continue to evolve. "Ivy Pepper has been transformed once again taking another step toward becoming the Ivy we know from the comics," the speech read.

She will be dangerous as ever, wild, and crazy, and she is set to take Gotham as her "own green paradise."

Meanwhile, in an interview with ComicBook, Michael Cerveris revealed that he should have played a different character other than Professor Pyg in "Gotham" season 4. The 56-year-old actor was supposed to play the role of Alfred Pennyworth before it was given to Sean Pertwee.

In fact, the singer-guitarist admitted that he had auditioned a lot of times to be a part of the FOX series over the years. "The very first time being, I auditioned on for the pilot of 'Gotham' for the role of Alfred," he said.

Although he did not have the chance to be Bruce Wayne's loyal manservant, he knew that Sean Pertwee could perfectly play the role. He even described that the 53-year-old voice actor's portrayal of the character is "brilliant" and no else can do it flawlessly.

Regarding his own role as Professor Pyg, he said that this is just the right role for him and the only one that he should ever play in "Gotham" season 4. "The stars align the way they were supposed to," he continued to say.

"Gotham" season 4 continues with episode 8 titled "A Dark Knight: Stop Hitting Yourself" on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
