With "Gran Turismo Sport" just releasing a few months ago and a new single-player mode even more recently been implemented, there should naturally be more updates to come. The "Gran Turismo Sport" game director himself has confirmed this and even shares what his future plans are for the franchise.

Kazunori Yamauchi, the game director, first shared his thoughts during an interview at the recently concluded Taipei Game Show, as per Japanese site, GameWatch (via Google translate). One of the questions was about the possibility of a new "Gran Turismo" game. Quite straightforwardly, he answers by saying that whenever he releases a "Gran Turismo" game, he has already started a new one.

The surprise remains as to whether it will be part of the numbered series with the next one being "Gran Turismo 7" or if it will be like another version like the latest "Gran Turismo Sport." He mentions this after he was questioned whether there would be more customization elements that would be added to "GT Sport" to which he replies that it would most likely be in the next game.

Of course, this was said after he mentioned his plans for the latest title. After all, "GT League" was recently just released, and many more cars will be added. He mentions as well that both new and old cars will soon be playable in the game as well as new races.

He also mentions that the philosophy for his games has recently been more about competition and realistic results. That said, he wishes that those who have actually raced in real life can apply their knowledge to the game and give them that edge.

At the very least, fans know that the "Gran Turismo" franchise would not be dying any time soon. Whether the next games will continue on that competition-driven genre or not, a new "Gran Turismo" game is bound to come out, possibly in the next years.
