The critically-acclaimed racing game by Polyphony Digital, "Gran Turismo Sport" had recently been released, and is looking to make its own mark as the most hard-core racing game in the market today. One way that they have achieved this is by acquiring the services of Lewis Hamilton, who is the current F1 World Champion. He will extend his knowledge and driving experience to players as a mentor in the game.

In a trailer footage by Polyphony Digital, it is shown that the game's producer, Kazunori Yamauchi and Hamilton have a chat about driving in general, while Hamilton showcases his craft in a special racing game seat complete with a steering wheel and motion sensitive sensors as pedals. The title of the video is called "Driving Inspiration," and seems to be a project which allows Lewis to discuss his philosophies and the myriad of techniques in driving.

In a report by Top Gear, Lewis, who is part of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team, will also be serving as an in-game mentor to help players become more adept. The aim is that players become better drivers not only in the game, but to eventually apply the skills that they learn in the game, in real life. This is definitely one of the most effective ways to cement the legacy of "Gran Turismo Sport," especially since it is a racing simulator.

Hamilton even alluded towards the end of the video that the possibilities and attention to detail that the game has is nothing short of remarkable. According to Paul Tan, Hamilton has played the game since he was a child, and has been a big part in his eventual decision to become a professional racecar driver.

"Gran Turismo Sport" has a release date set for Oct. 17, 2017 for the PlayStation 4, and will have a virtual reality (VR) mode for the PlayStation VR.
