The release of the highly-anticipated racing game "Gran Turismo Sport" is just around the corner for North America. Developed by Polyphony Digital, the game experienced multiple delays but has inadvertently generated more hype for fans. That hype has been increased further since the developers had revealed a list of the assorted cars that players will get to use when the game comes out this month.

In a report by Car Scoops, "Gran Turismo Sport" has already revealed the complete roster of cars. As of now, the list consists of 162 cars of different types and varieties, and will be appropriate for the assorted race tracks that will be available as well. All of the cars will be split into six different classes. One is Group N for the standard roads. Included in this class are classic cars such as the Peugeot RCZ and the Acura NSX.

The other groups are Group 4, which are intended for GT4 championship races. Group 3 will be featuring race cars with GT3 racing specifications, and Group 1 which is streamlined only for LMP1 and LMP2 concept vehicles in the prototype stage.

According to Bleacher Report, there may be a rich list of vehicles that can be used, but compared to competitors like "Forza Motorsport 7," the number of cars "Gran Turismo Sport" has pales in comparison. However, this may not turn off players even a bit, since Polyphony Digital has always targeted being the most realistic driving simulation game in the market. This means that every little detail of each car in the game looks and feels like the real thing.

As much as the developers are going for a substance over style track, this did not stop them from deploying anticipated concept cars from top manufacturers. In a report by Moto Authority, Peugeot L750 R Hybrid will be making its way to the game as well, which is aimed to have tremendous amount of speed and power in a very light body.

"Gran Turismo Sport" will be released on Oct. 17.
