The "Grand Theft Auto" ("GTA") franchise will be getting a sixth addition to the series. Although an exact date has not been given, news regarding its eventual release has already been confirmed.

According to Tech Radar, Rockstar Games' developers currently have their hands full with the sequel to the popular western roleplaying game (RPG) "Red Dead Redemption." Due to the sequel being their main priority, it is most likely that "Grand Theft Auto VI" will not see the light of day until 2022.

Tech Radar went on to explain that game analyst Michael Pachter said in an interview with Gaming Bolt that the game would most likely see the light of day sometime after 2022. The best case scenario for "GTA 6," according to Pachter, would be a 2020 announcement and a 2021 release.

Pachter went on to explain why "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be arriving eight years after the original. Rockstar takes their time working on their games, and right now, "Grand Theft Auto 6" has yet to be confirmed. Expert Reviews has noted that there are signs the developers are planning and getting started on a brand-new "Grand Theft Auto" game, but no concrete evidence has been made public for now.

Despite the lack of concrete evidence, rumors of the game's development have been spreading around the internet like wildfire. The rumors and guesses have fanned the flames, leading to several websites and game enthusiasts making their own predictions on what "GTA 6" might end up being like. Some of the speculations that have been floating around the internet are about the game's upcoming protagonist, plot, missions and possible release date.

The "Grand Theft Auto" franchise first came out in 1997 for the PC. In 1998 it was ported to the PlayStation and in 1999 to Game Boy Color.

The game gained immediate popularity due to its open-world environment, various missions and action-packed car chases. Many players were happy about the freedom the gameplay provided, but the title was also hit with negative feedback due to its violent and mature themes. However, despite the backlash it received, it went on to become one of the favorites in the video game world.
