'Grand Theft Auto 5' news update: Store clerks surprisingly disappeared

The in-game store clerks of convenience and liquor stores have suddenly disappeared in "Grand Theft Auto V." YouTube/Rockstar Games

Just recently, "Grand Theft Auto V" players noticed something odd happening within the game. Basically, all the in-game store clerks in convenience stores were gone, including the cashiers of liquor stores. Surprisingly, Rockstar Games has yet to make an official statement explaining the phenomenon.

According to Kotaku, mystery has wrapped the online iteration of "Grand Theft Auto V" following the sudden disappearance of the aforementioned non-player characters. It holds true that anyone could have just robbed and/or killed them. However, considering the fact that dozens of them are missing, robbing and/or killing them in one single day would not just fit.

The catch here is that these stores are part of every player's daily objectives in the game. Sure, they may play a small role in the game; however, their presence is somewhat significant to the overall experience of Rockstar's title. Besides, it only means that players will not be able to complete their respective daily missions.

Furthermore, the issue does not stop there. That is because players will also not be able to complete the tutorial, as reported by GTA 5 cheats. At one point in "Grand Theft Auto V," Lamar instructs players to go around and rob certain convenience stores (even at gunpoint). Unfortunately, with the clerk missing in action, pointing a gun at thin air is pretty ridiculous. Good thing is, players can simply skip the tutorial.

Adding to the above-mentioned things, players will also not be able to organize their respective cars in garages. PC players, on the other hand, are reporting about having issues setting various bounties. Surely, all of these have brought confusion to the entire community.

The developers at Rockstar Games have yet to comment on what appears to be a bug or glitch in "Grand Theft Auto V." So, it remains a mystery whether or not this is an issue, or perhaps the studio is planning something big and wants the players to be surprised.
