Rockstar Games has been having a lot of success with their line-up of open world action adventure video games. The company is of course expected to dish out follow-ups to these titles, with fans now clamouring for an immediate installment to the 2013 open world title, "Grand Theft Auto 5." Unfortunately, the games developer has yet to announce any plans for the development of the highly anticipated sequel, giving way to numerous rumors and speculations regarding what it could offer gamers when it finally comes out.

New reports have revealed that gamers who are expecting the release of the franchise's sixth installment may be in for a long wait as Rockstar is currently still pre-occupied with the upcoming release of their other open world sequel, "Red Dead Redemption 2." According to reports, the developer will likely be spending most of its time on the new game which is also expected to be followed up by several post-release content, updates, and DLCs.

Despite the long wait, reports have revealed that the game may be well worth the wait as the new installment is rumored to contain some brand new features that have never been seen before in previous "Grand Theft Auto" titles. A report from Neurogadget has speculated that the new game may indeed feature a brand new map that is set outside the United States. The previous games in the franchise featured cities that mirrored actual cities in the U.S., but gamers may be taken to an entirely different continent in the new game. The report claimed that the next game could be set in either Tokyo, Japan or in London, England.

Aside from the new setting, reports have also revealed that the game could feature a female protagonist along with other new characters. If this will indeed be happening, "Grand Theft Auto 6" would be the first game in the franchise to feature a female protagonist. The new character is also rumored to be voiced by Hollywood actress Eva Mendes.
