Rockstar Games recently released a treat to players of their open-world action game "Grand Theft Auto Online" ("GTA Online"). Titled "Doomsday Heist," the expansion is one of the largest released for the game to date.

The "Doomsday Heist" expansion's main feature is the titular heist, with the story divided into three acts. While the big picture is to complete all three, each of the individual act is a grand heist on its own.

The story requires a team of two to four players that will work together to stop a doomsday situation. The scenario involved is said to be so "diabolical" that it is a threat to the continued existence of life.

To help with the challenges, tons of new equipment is included in the expansion. "Doomsday Hest" gives players access to "Facilities," a gameplay location that houses the new aircraft "Mammoth Avenger." Facilities are also the place from which heists can be accessed.

There are nine purchasable locations for Facilities, and the lot can be customized. Players can add sleeping quarters, security rooms, and an orbital cannon as a pre-emptive measure of defense. However, to fire the cannon, a vehicle must be stored in the particular Facilities. This is no problem as the building can store up to seven vehicles.

The expansion introduces fifteen new vehicles to the game, offering a lot more ways to travel to the various locations. Nine of the vehicles have preinstalled weapons in them, but the player is free to fit weapons in the other models, too.

In addition, there are six new weapons in the expansion. All of them are reported to be "Mark 2" versions of weapons already in-game.

Rockstar Games' open-world masterpiece has recently become one of the bestselling games of all time, selling 85 million copies since its release. "The Doomsday Heist" gives players more reasons to revisit the game, as the expansion is free for all "GTA Online" players.
