"Grand Theft Auto V" came out for the PS3 and Xbox One as far back as 2013 and fans have been eagerly waiting for its true follow-up. According to a recent report from Tech Radar, however, fans won't have to wait much longer as Rockstar is already working on "Grand Theft Auto VI"

According to the report, the game is in its earliest stages of development and that the development team has not yet decided on a location for the game to be set in.

Previous titles mostly focused on Liberty City, the game's version of New York, and Vice City, the game's version of Miami. San Andreas, another popular in-game location, is based on Los Angeles, California. Liberty City also has a portion dedicated to China Town, based on the real-world China Town seen in New York City.

However, it was revealed by the report's source that the team did consider making a "Grand Theft Auto" game set in Tokyo, Japan. The team went as far as visiting the real city to do some research but this did not pan out due to the different traffic laws and because vehicles are driven on the left side of the road, marking it too vast a contrast to be implemented properly.

A report from Mirror points out that the Tokyo game came out right after the team worked on "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" and it is likely that the difficulties in setting a game outside the U.S. caused them to move ahead with "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" insted.

Despite this unnamed "GTA" game not being made, it is speculated that the Japanese city portions might still make a way into "Grand Theft Auto VI." However, if the game is still set in the U.S. then the Japanese section may be implemented as a small town similar to how China Town is integrated in past games.
